I think all the rubber did was collect oil, and a lot of it. Don't think it actually sealed anything. Actually since I got it plugged, haven't had any surge issues like I did. Could just be I didn't hit the throttle just right, but I've towed twice since and don't remember any surge either time.

I had some rubbing on the passenger side tube & used a tie strap to hang the wire so it was off the tube. I think chafe from the vibration can introduce bad mojo, tough to find.

When I did mine, I thought I had dented the tube somehow !?! And yep, its good for about 8-11 hp upgrade

I did finally get it fnished. Just chucked up wire wheel in my drill and went to work on it. When I was finished I wiped it down with acetone and a rag to get rid of the residue. And I did make sure to position the tube away from the P/S Hose. Also I think I can hear my Turbo whistle a little more now.
