Need Source For Tailgate 97 250 HD

How about this place. Looks like a network of junkyards but in the description it says "New". Anybody get any body panels or tailgates from here?

What's different between the years? I just got one at a local pull n save and their system said 92-97 were interchangeable. I got a decent one from a 96 but they had a couple late 80's that were real nice. Would have grabbed an older one if I knew it fit.

See my above post if its got the aluminum center section...
The 92-97's had a smooth tail gate, the 80-86's had a large indented center with raised FORD letters, the latches were different too. The 87-92's had a mix match of either smooth or indented like the 80's trucks.

FORD, NATIONAL PARTS DEPOT, and Dennis carpenter has them. If you use your truck as a TRUCK, then stay away from the cheap map replacement ones

Just an fyi, the junkyard had several used ones for $35 or new aftermarket skins for $ 100. That's without paint and no internals.

Car-part is a great source. Via Diesel_Brad's post I contacted Dennis Carpenter and here is his reply: 92-97 F250'S USE THE SAME TAILGATE BUT IT IS NOT ANYTHING THAT WE STOCK. THESE TAILGATES ARE OFFERED AS AFTERMARKET PARTS ON THE INTERNET BY SEVERAL DIFFERENT COMPANIES SUCH AS "AUTOPARTSWAREHOUSE.COM". SORRY, WE CAN'T HELP YOU WITH ANYTHING THAT NEW.
Autopartswarehouse is also a great source. The quality and 5 year warranty on some of them should get the approval of Diesel_Brad. Plus free shipping.
