Need Tailgate

Anyone ever replaced their tailgate. Ford quote= $850-900
Aftermarket chepo= $200
I haven't been able to locate one at a pic and pull, what are the prices from you area pic and pulls?

A complete tailgate through the yard our shop uses is $700.
Then it will need painting.

Years back I purchased the "el-cheapo" tailgate for my old 97 XL.While it was VERY much "lighter" it seemed to do the job.All of my handle assy,s/latches etc, had to be transferred as well as the inner plate.If you dont put any appreciable weight on them they seem to fair well cosmetically.With that being said,if you want a GOOD tailgate,indeed find a salvage yard OEM.
