OK so I got to meet Tim today, that's "Fal-308-Win" and he's a true gentleman, he came over to weigh in on my 6.0l troubles and suggested I upload a video of the smoke so you guys could give me some input if its oil or fuel.
One thing I just noticed is the tick only happens when the engine is hot. Smokes no matter what though. I did the bubble test - no bubbles.
have you been going threw coolant? what does the smoke smell like unburnt fuel or steamy coolant? have you pulled the egr and looked in the intake? maybe an injector holding open or depending on the year that circuit in the ficm toast? i'm far from a pro, just trying to give you some free and easy ideas on what to check to try help narrowing it down. have you checked your ficm voltage koeo and koer?
Pull the Downpipe of the turbo and see if you have oil in the downpipe
OK, Looks like I'll need to do that sooner or later. Planning on getting AE first, I have a 4" downpipe so theres no place to move it to. I'd have to pull the turbo.
Tim suggestion I loosen the marmon clamp and see if a lot of oil drips out. Going to do that now.
Looks like fuel to me if you aren't going thru gobs of coolant.
You don't have gauges to check the FICM voltages?
Josh
Happy to say no coolant loss or coolant pressure anomalies. My ScangaugeII reports 54 volts at all times, after I did the 10k resister mod. love it. Didn't fix my woes though. Thanks for the feedback!
OK more good news I got the smoke to totally go away. I just had to disconnect injector #8 connector. Problems solved. I wish it was that easy. So I have new (rebuild with new everything) injectors on the driver side and new pushrods that didn't even need changing so, I'm down to bent or stuck valve. or maybe broken lifter. If it was a bad lifter would there be a smoke problem. Either way Would you guys say at this point I should pull the head.
Benny, the 10k resistor mod is a easy to do mod to the FICM if you can use a soldering iron with confidence. Its on another site dieselstop or garage forgot which one but its worth it. If you do it you MUST resolder the other parts found in the procedure. It requires only a 10k resistor, good soldering iron and a hair dryer to loosen the epoxy.
So you disconnect #8 Inject and Smoke Gone RIGHT????????????????????????
So could the tick sound be Fuel Knock if the Above^^Is true??
IDK from the vid seems more ticky than Knocky as In Fuel Knock
Yes!! No smoke at all with #8 disconnected. I still see a slight vibration of the engine (running on 7 cylinders), no major ticking sound at the moment but I hear a slight tick when I rev it up.

Well with where you sit now with the truck Id change that Injector with Reman Ford Injector and see what happens after that
