The fact he can't spell "confederate" should have given you a clue...

Couldn't spell "patina" either. Looking at the truck I am not sure he even knows what it means.

The body is/was a 40-47 Panel truck.

I'm curious why he couldn't fit the entire spare tire cutout onto the frankinford? Must have been shortened there to work with the exploder wheelbase? Looks pretty bogus to have 3/4 of the cut out. But then...

Honestly Bob, I don't know why these things bother you so much. By now you should know that this kind of butchery is not only common but pervasive. At least it isn't a real rat rod. Ditch the confederate flag (too '70's) and this one "could" be saved.

It may be pervasive but I still can't tolerate it. The sad thing is a large proportion of these conglomerations use good, usable sheet metal.

The only thing that separates this from rat rod is the guy hosed a coat of primer on this thing, something a rat rodder is too lazy to do most of the time. IMO, no amount CPR could save this "truck".

Something completely random here, but did anyone else notice the "action figure" tucked into the grill?

Undoubtedly a Justin Bieber action figure, anatomically correct even...

It's a '49-up cab with the back part of an earlier panel grafted on, that's why the spare tire well is shaped like that.
To each his own, I guess, but it looks like the waste of a couple of old Ford bodies to me!

Isn't it fun to bring up old posts?

Well, the guy would built the truck that was the subject of this post really misses it and wants to find it.

LOOKING FOR FRANKINFORD

Unfortunately the old eBay images are no longer available but at least he's go a little eye candy in the pictures he posted in his CL ad.

I just thought this was interesting, not much, but still interesting.
