Well like most folks I was reading through the various threads and saw the one Connor started on his custom door panels. We wrote back and forth and decided on a semi-custom covered stock door panel. Connor started with Dennis Carpenter seconds (bad colour) which was perfect for covering. The design idea was Connors to tie with the interior theme. What a pleasure popping eight new door fasteners into place. I picked up the window handles off e-bay and they tie also nicely.
Then Connor had to post he was covering dashes, I was going to paint mine but the idea sounding appealing. Shipping is a pain from across the border but when the covered dash arrived I couldn't believe how good it looked.
Dealing with Connor has been a true pleasure, he really stands by his work and his attention to detail is great. Anyone thinking of having work done will not be disappointed, well only with the fact you keep coming back for more .
Now before I put the door panels or dash in I wanted to paint the interior flat black to match the exterior, also gave me a chance to swap the anti-rattle strips in the door, swap the carpet and so on, and so on. The job just seemed to get bigger and bigger but eventually it started to come together and by the first Cruise Night I had it back together (with 40 minutes to spare).
It all came together real nice! That dash is what really Makes it unique. All your aluminum against the black looks cool too. I bet it looks even better in person, I know how hard it is to get good pictures of black. Great job on the rest of the interior! It all looks awesome!
Thank-you. It's not a show truck but beat on regularly. Pictures don't do justice to the dash and door panels, they are outstanding.
Heading to an all Ford truck show in August and that's when people who know these trucks will appreciate the unique touches. I can't wait until my girls finish school so I can fund the full on resto.
