Hi FTE, it's been a while since I've had to post anything, my truck has been running and lookin good.
Today I went to drive and I have no wipers period, no intermittant, low, high, no fluid spraying on windows.
So, obvious, look at fuses, I show it's the 10A fuse in spot 11, Washer Pump, Wipe Run etc, no go, the fuse is fine, even swapped it with spot 4, works fine.
To piggy back off of what Richard mentioned above: Did you replace the windshield recently? I have an Expedition that would act all goofy when it would rain after having a windshield replaced. It turned out there was a very small leak and it would get the fuse box damp and get things going like that.
What about wiper arms. My left arm won't keep tension on the wiper all the way threw the wipe. It lifts slightly at the top and leaves water. Is there a way to make more tension? New blades but it did it before, thanks
I have since checked fuse 15 under hood. Everything else seems to be working, I just dont have any wiper motion period, not even a sound like the motor is trying, also, no pump, which should be separate. I have not replaced windshield. There is just nothing about that system that is working............ Regarding, GEM, I have seen reference to that, where is that and what is it?
I had an old dodge due me that way one time. I put a ground wire to the wiper motor mounting bolt then to the fire wall, never had another problem out of them.
Im going with the above post, sounds like the control stalk, something has kicked the bucket in it or wiring between that and the wiper motor and washer pump..
I agree with 99F and Theenforcer. It sounds like the switch in the arm may be the culprit. I was having turn signal issues and figured that was my issue but it turned out to be the relay so I have an extra (original used)one if you want it. It had 150K miles worth of use on it, but I'll send it to you and you can check it and not have to pay for a new one. Most places won't let you return electrical items. If it is the issue then great, if it's not, then at least you won't be like me and have bought a new one only to find out it's NOT the problem.
From O'Reilly the original Motorcraft ones are $135 ish. The new aftermarket ones aren't too spendy, I think I paid $75 or so from Autozone, but if you want to save that cash, just let me know.
OFF the subject, did something happen to Robin?????
