What I want to do is give my underbody (frame, axles, etc) some protective paint so it looks good and stands out. I have seen por-15 and hirsch automotive paints and what im looking for is a color that will be noticable but still match my truck. Color selection in kind of limited at only black and silver. I have a white truck so I was wondering if anyone had an idea how silver would look? Im kind of leaning toward silver from hirsch auto but I have no clue what tone this paint is since they dont have any pictures on their site. MustangGT221, you did the black right? Is their some pics in your gall of the frame? Later
I did do black. You can get their gray primer and overcoat it. I will go take pictures now and put them in my gallery!

Check out my Gallery for a look-see.
Then theres:
99' Mustang GT 4.6L
88' F-250 Heavyduty 4x4 351/c6
95' Mercury Cougar 4.6L V-8
80' E-350 300/6 with a
3 spd column shifter. Weighs around 7,000lbs w. 65mph top speed, who wants to race me!
Put those pictures up in my gallery for you. I have not finished yet. I still need to do the rear of the frame behind the rear axle. I've done most of the frame, front axle and driveshaft, rear axle and driveshaft, brakedrums, and the transfer case crossmember. I didn't do the rear springs because I plan on replacing them, otherwise I would have. Hope it helps!

awesome man. You can really tell the difference when looking at the rear diff and the unpainted shock towers and springs are the bare metal. Im wondering if the springs spring action might cause the paint to flake off. I know the stuff is tough but it still is paint. Have any ideas on how the silver would look on my truck? Im debating between that and black....
I painted the leafs on my old truck and it wasn't a problem. You can't get the paint where it's going to flake off anyway. If you want to take the extra effort to paint it twice, one primer and one silver, than go ahead. I plan on leaving mine black. I think it would look a little funny. I think i'm going to do what i did on my old truck, and paint the leafs yellow, the coils yellow, radius arms yellow, maybe the drag links, that kinda miscellanous stuff.

I guess im not fallowing you on painting it twice to use silver. Does the silver paint they make require a primer and not the black? In that case I probably would go with the black. When I looked on their site they listed silver black and clear as the color choices of the mirical paint.
What kind of yellow paint do you use? I have noticed many kinds of engine enamel Im wondering if they will work. Talk to you later
The gray (silver ur talking about) is just a primer and is ment to be topcoated. I just put two coats of black on there. I cleaned off any surface rust and painted it. I wouldn't go nuts, i did on the first truck and its just going to get dirty and some parts will get scratched a little, so dont go nuts.
