has anyone deleted the a/c? this truck is no longer my daily driver and i am getting started with a big hp build.. so its gonna be a show vehicle with some weekend racing for fun.. if you have done it what are some of the pro's and cons other than the obvious not having a/c i the summer
if its a show truck you could add some flash by chroming the compressor. pros are less weight and maybe a couple hp, cons are having to take it all out and the time it takes to do that. you could make a dummy pulley or take it off completely but you may need the non ac serp belt then
Nothing like showing up to a car show with a truck that smells like a locker room in the cab because you sweated to death on your way. Deleting the A/C will neaten things up under the hood, but you won't save any significant time racing if you leave it turned off on a run. I say fix it--it is part of the defroster system, and helps tremendously when it comes to clearing the windows on a cool, rainy day. As long as your compressor is working, you should be able to have it fixed for under $400--chump change compared to a "high HP build".
