I need to replace my font wheel bearings on one side. I found a youtube video of a guy doing it on an f350 with a dana 60 front, the bearings LMC sells are for a dana50/60, so my question is this,
will the procedure for replacing be the bearings on my dana 50 be the same as the guy replacing his on the dana60?
great, thanks. I guess now I need to get a better pair of lock ring pliers, from my understanding the most difficult part is getting the lock ring out.
In the video the guy is doing it on a 2006 f350, I'm guessing its a little different. I'd love for somone who has done it on an older one like mine(1991) to chime in.
I don't think the D60 under your 91 will resemble the axle under the 06 much at all, at least for the wheel bearings. The newer trucks run modular (?) bearings while on the older trucks you can replace just the bearing itself assuming the spindle and hub are OK.
No one that has worked on these has any tips for this guy? I've only worked on the little D44.
Yep, check my sig down here (Front End Rebuild). The procedure is pretty similar, when I did my own research I watched several videos on Youtube about F-250 front axles (Dana 50 TTB) and there was a great resemblance between the procedures, as both are Twin Traction Beam axles.
