Door panel question

Is there any way to buy only the lower cargo holder (or whatever it is called) for the interior door panel? It looks like the previous owner broke it off. I can't find a part number for it-- it looks like it just comes with the panel.

Like you say probably not sold seperately by ford.
Easier to go to a local junk yard and look for a door from the f series 250, 350, 450 or X for a new door panel and if need be re and re your work grain parts.

Yeah, I don't think I'm going to be able to find just that piece. I didn't know all those models had compatible interiors, so thanks for that info.

Only the front doors are interchangeable between f-series and excursion. The 2nd row doors are different between crewcab and Ex, or so i have read on FTE.

That makes sense. I only need the front PS so that works for me.

Thanks for the clarification.

That part is plastic welded on IIRC, I'll double check when I get my panel off though

Oh is that right?

I thought it used plastic plugs or something. It looked to me like the plugs just broke in half when the thing broke off, but they could just as easily have been broken welds. Looks like I'll be in the market for the whole panel unless I can convince my wife we don't need it (we don't).

No, they're "plugs", they just put the 2 parts together and heat it till it melts into one.

Oh ok. I thought they were fasteners.

Thanks for the heads-up.

We could trade drivers side panels. Mine broke off, so then you would have matching on each side. J/k. I have had no luck finding a junk yard replacement yet.

Lol..it's an idea.

Actually I was thinking about finding some thin carpeting of the same color as the interior--maybe from a used floor mat-- and using an adhesive to affix it where the tray is missing.

Would look better than it does now.

The one on my passenger side door broke off because my kids wouldn't stop using it as a foot rest.

I finally replaced the door panel when one of the members here was parting out an Excursion that had the correct color interior.

I appreciate the thought.

That might be what I wind up doing, although I am pushing for the 'cover it with a carpet cut-out' route. I don't even mind what it looks like now, but it bugs my wife who in turn bugs me.

I just hope she doesn't begin poking around elsewhere, because this truck is far from showroom.
