Ok, how do you get the door panel on a '76 f100 off? i was outside looking for somethin in my truck and shined the flashlight towards my door.....and it caught my eye that there was something behind it....i have two speakers behind the panel taht arent hooked up lol....that i didnt know were there. so yea....dont know if they're supposed to be there or not, but im gonna put some good ones in there and see how that works
The door panel is held on by plastic clips attatched to the door, and are pushed into the door itself. A special tool (nothing expensive) is made that will pry the two apart. Or you can try a screwdriver to pry them apart. Just try not to damage if the panels are nice.
Its always better to break the clips than the door panel if you have to choose.Iv used a small prybar before. The ones about 2 inches wide and 6 inches long.Worked for me.
Use a piece of thin sheet metal and make a 90 deg break 1" from the end. Then slide it till you hit the clips then tilt side to side to pop them clean of the panel. Done it for years. The arm rest should have screws.
thanks guys, already did it lol, got it off fie without breaking anything.....had a good time gettin it back on tho. but i bought new clips and it went on in like 3 seconds
the door panel on the fords have 1 or maybe 2 phillips screws in top of the arm rest and there are plastic clips around the outer edge of the panel. the clips will brobably get messed up but they canbe found at any parts house cheap. the trick is to be careful because the door panels like to break in front of the window crank so be careful. just lift the edge of the panel and it should pop right off. hope this helps.
