firewall boot replacement

has any one replaced the steering column firewall boot. just ordered one and trying to figure out how it slides over the shifter arms.

You have to pull it apart....No good easy way of that.

u CAN go from that end - pull the wheel & pound out the pin on the column end of the shifter. I might like that better'n disassembly of the other end & pullin the whole column. Depends on what U got there (auto/manual). Either way U hafta pull the 2 bolts on the strap column hanger & the ele plug.
I honor U 4 doin it. (better cabin temp, dryer, quieter, less mice & insects). I just went w/o.

Hay does that have a metal ring too? I was just out doing my power box and column mock up and I'm going to have to order one too but the PO had taken the steering column apart and I know some stuff is missing Flaming river stuff is spendy for something you cant see on a Bronco so I rather go with stock,Even though its a GM column
