91 7.3l idi water in fuel light on

the wif light has been on consistently and its not starting good. It hasn't been starting good for a week now. It has a brand new glow plug relay and new batteries. I put in a new fuel filter 2 months ago. What do I do?

Well there is a unit on the firewall close to the fender of the drivers side, it has fuel line running to it, there is a ring at the bottom you pull to drain water out.

Does the '91 still have that old style water separator? My '92 had the combined filter/separator.

on the base of your fuel fillter ther should be a thumb screw type valve, start the truck, and open this valve some fuel will spill on the ground, my van has a small hose that hooks to the valve and directs the fuel down to the ground under the power stearing pump,,if u don't have this hose fuel will spill under the Ip and drain under the maifold and drip on the starter, won't hurt any thing, but the grass...if u catch this fuel u my see water..the light should go out..
