And now my head hurts. I have my parts list together for my HG change, boy, little parts add up quick!
I am stuck on a few things.
I hate the idea of someone else working on my truck. I have got some very good labor quotes from shops that buy parts from me, but, $$ is short too. So, it looks like I am going to tackle it myself. If Run6.0run can rebuild the whole damn engine, I can change some gaskets. (No offense to Run).
I have been reading some of the posts/builds on doing them, I believe totally doable with cab on. Gonna have to be for that matter, my nephew said no way to my cab tying up his hoist for 2 weeks.
To those that have done it cab on, how did you manage to keep the dirt and crud out of engine bay? I will be doing this in my driveway. Really need to get that pole barn built.....
And maybe go ahead and buy an extra IPR screen. It seems to be where any junk collects. Watch ICP and IPR closely after re-assembly. Also, I had never done it before but someone here at FTE mentioned putting a piece of 3/8 fuel line on the end of your shop vac hose to clean up as you go and before cracking things open. It worked pretty well I thought. I've used it several times since.
