Adjustable Master Cylinder Pushrod

I switched my front brakes over to disk and of course the pedal sits a bit high. The rod on mine is the cylinder style and I don't have a welder nor do I know anybody with one to be able to cut and reweld.

So it seems my options would be to switch out the booster for a year that used the flat rod where I could drill another hole but I am not sure which year this would come from.

My other option would be an adjustable master cylinder pushrod kit. Has anybody tried these or know if they work?

Thanks!

Not sure how much that kit cost but if you've got a tap and die set, a hacksaw and a left hand thread die and a turnbuckle you can make one yourself. Just be sure if you do to double nut it for safety reasons. I'd probably even use some loctite on it once you get the length correct.

Another easy solution is to block the booster bracket away from the firewall, I used two pieces of 1/4" steel on each side, drilled holes, mounted and all works fine.

The adjustable kits are a snap, and quite easy to dial in. just make sure once you get it where you like the throw, that you lock nut it tight, so it doesn't move on you...... It is a great solution!

Take it to your local machine / weld shop. They can be a fantastic resource. Ask how much they will charge.

Our local one man shop charges $10 minimum for little stuff like that which should take him less than 5 minutes. He has been a life saver to the farmers and old iron fans as he can turn shafts for bearings, weld pretty much anything, and mill out replacement parts if you have an example.
