Has anyone had trouble getting their locking wheel nuts off?
I have just had to have mine broken off because the key cracked. Dealer said it was over-torqued, and these should always be installed by hand.
So dealer#1 installed them during a tire rotation (probably with an impact gun), and dealer#2 had to break the key while I was traveling on a holiday, so whose fault is it and are they even worth replacing?
This is the second truck on which I have had the problem. Frustrated.
Just junk them and use the stock nuts, or put up a fight for a new set?
Am still under warranty.
I'm sure any semipro that wants your wheels has the same kit we have that takes them off without a key. Before the kit we would just weld a bead on the lug and then pound a socket on them. I've had not had good luck with stock ford lug nuts.
