Apparently I have the Gorrila "Original System" all lug whell lock kit. Yesterday was my first visit to the dealer for my routine maintence, including tire rotation. Secretly worrying about their thoughts on my no muffler exhaust dumped under the bed, I had no idea about the true dillema. I have no key for these special lug nuts, nor do I have the required key code to order one. My dealer is tracking down the dealer that installed the wheel/tire combo for the giveaway, to see if they still have the info or key. This should be fun! Just thought I'd share.
Yep! The truck was part of a promotional giveaway and came with the 20" wheels "and wheel locks". I was looking at buying an older Super Duty early next year, but 2008 was my lucky year.
Are all the lug nuts locked? Or does each wheel just have one locking lug? Is it like a spline drive nut or what? They make a tool to remove them but it destroys the lug nut, and also if the nut is recessed like a spline drive type they wont work either.
All 32 look like this,
Which would be sweet, if I had the key!
Cartmanea, I'll try that if the dealership does not pan out.
Bigrigfixer, no dice on the jack storage and my old name was B2Sardog.
I have those same nuts. They aren't anything special. You can go to any Discount Tire and get the driver for them. Just say its for a SuperDuty with Gorrila nuts. I worried too that they were a special design or something and asked if there was a code I needed to get the key replaced if I ever lost it. They said nope its just a standard splined lug.
You probably already have but make sure you go through your glove box thoroughly. I've heard thats were the drive is often stashed.
