I used a oil filter wrench that i use for my coolant filter, and put it around the big part of the cap. Spun it right off. cant really use it to put it back on though
i have the socket, and with two feet of cheater bar i couldn't get it to budge.. i would think that'd have alot more leverage than an oil filter wrench (unless i'm thinking of something different).
not sure if were on the same page, but this is what i used
i couldnt even try a socket though because it was rounded off, so i bought a new cap. i tried a big pair of vice grips and i couldnt get it to budge though
well i do have one, maybe i'll give'r a twist. unfortunately it will be in my cold snowy driveway instead of SDElwood's heated, chassis-lift-equipped shop.
The spec for primary is within the range for the oil filter cap, so it makes sense to me. I don't come up with them, I just pull them from the documentation, so there's a good chance that different sources will pull slightly different info; this came from a combo of the shop manual and the oil change leaflet. It's not like it's a huge issue, the caps are sealed with o-rings anyways. No leaks and no broken cap works IMO

That's what I used for years... I felt it worked just fine even with the front driveshaft in the way
Yea it worked fine taking it off, i just couldnt figure out a way to position it to put the cap back on, so i went out and bought a 36mm socket and it was alot easier
