Cat Delete Only

Was wondering what kind of benefit will be with removing the cat from my stock exhaust. I have a e 99 7.3 with cold air intake. DP Tuner with tow tunes will be installed soon. Any change in performance and sound?

I eventually plan on 4" exhaust with muffler and no cat but may have to take it a step at a time..

Only thing I would say is hang on to it in case your area starts smoging your truck. Really expensive to replace and in CAL you can't get an after market one - dealer only. More states will follow suit sooner or later.

I had my cat off for more than ten years before having to put it back on to smog the truck in CA. Since then I've set my single tank mileage record at 17.6 so I don't think there is much effect. Sounds the same too.
