With your amount of miles you probably could have at least one injector giving you fits...
...If it ends up being an injector, and you only want one, any parts store should be able to order just one, depending on your budget, and what you want do do with the truck, I'd recommend replacing all eight. You should buy your parts through this sites supporters as they keep this site going and not only have the best customer service you could ask for, but much better prices then the average parts store. In my opinion. Anyway, you should do the glow plugs while your under there and do the fifty cent mod and grind down a quarter and fix each valve cover harness.

Yeah... what he said. FRx and Hutch can really help the fuel pressure as well... less air in the lines means more fuel pressure.
Thanks for the input. I am taking it to a reputable mech this week to pull VC. As I am not that inclined. I have seen the uvch mod. .50 cent mod. But what is the hutch harpoon mod??? Sorry still new to this diesel world, but learning quickly...

The frx helps regulate the return fuel, and the hh eliminates possible air leaks and helps filling the tank quicker.
I don't hear anything different than how mine sounds, apart from the wind in the 1st part. There is only one thing that caught my eye: where is your 710 plug? If that's gone, some strange sounds could come from there as well. I don't know a lot about mechanics, but I do know this...
Okay I have a knock that has just started. It only knocks at idle and deceleration. If I am on the throttle or bringing it up on the converter, no knock sounds great. I was under the truck today and noticed the starter would move a little. Tried to tighten but it was already tight. then noticed that if I pushed on the starter it would move the housing it is bolted to. Upon further inspection. I looks like ther is a crack in the housing. not the tranny housing or the engine block this looks like a aluminum spacer about an inch thick.that goes all the way around kinda like an adapter. any ideas? has anyone had a problem like this?
