7.3 engine noise

7.3 engine noise
Just found the site and logged on. Got a /99 ford 350 with the 7.3 and the engine has gradually developed a knock. Usually only when its warm. Sounds like it's from the back of the engine, and sound equally as loud when you are listening fron either the right or left side. The mechanics are baffelled. Anybody got any ideas? It sounds like you expect a knocking rod to sound like, heavy, not tinny. But its not rhythemic.
