Steering Column Wiring Issues
Awhile back, I got a 78/79 Bronco Tilt Steering Column installed in my 1971 Ranger XLT. The Mechanic Shop in town put it in for me. After getting it back, I noticed that the turn signals worked, but when the brake was applied, they then quit flashing, and stayed ON. Then, shortly after that they quit working altogether.
I took it back in - these guys have down loaded all sorts of wiring diagrams from the web, and have tried all sorts of solutions. They can't get the brake, turn signal, etc. wiring to work correctly.
Has anyone else ever had this problem? Is there anyone out there that is good with these type issues? It's been a real pain in the butt. I mean, heck, don't guys swap out these steering columns like this all the time, and they work properly?
Thanks,
Bob
Thanks. I had already asked them if I should get a T/S Switch for it - you had even posted some ph. numbers where some were located, and I called them (they are available!). But the guys at the shop seem to think that the T/S/ Switch is not the problem, but that it's something else.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here, however, and say that you know more about these Fords than the guys at the local shop! I'll let them know - and see about getting a T/S switch.
Thanks!
Bob
