Michelin XML tires

I've been looking at Michelin XML tires and I was wondering if anybody knew the average life you get out of these things as in miles before they go bald

Can't speak to the XML but the LTX are simply the best tires I've ever owned. 65K miles, still a lot of life left in 'em after 5 years. If a tire were to have a short life it would be mine in current use but they've been flawless since brand new.

I do watch my tire pressure and alignment though---two things that help tire life.

Same here on the AT/2s. Recently got my second set, 90,000 on ther first and I still had tread left but they were getting a little scooty in the rain and snow. Other than a few complaints about wear issues on some new 6.7 stroke trucks (chunks of rubber being spun off and wear issues, probably from smokin the tires) I've heard nothing but kudos for wear on any Michelin tires. My 67 Imperial has a 12 or so year old set on it and no cracking or dry/flat spots even though it sits a lot, seldom have to air up except after winter storage and then it's just a top off.

keep in mind the original poster is talking about XML's, which are a big gnarly military mud tire.. hard to compare them to light duty truck tires.

they should wear extremely long.. they are a very hard tire with crazy-high load ranges. the ride on the other hand.. be ready for it, lol.
