Last time I was out on a trip, Missy upgraded our family computer to Win8...
Not a fan yet. Made me long for the good ole days, WinXp, Win3.11, O/S2, DOS. What OS did my Trs80 use on the cassette tape?

Probably an Apple adaptation of CP/M.
Who could ever need more than 64K of RAM, right?
Remember that Visicalc was designed to run on CP/M, and major companies were run on it!
My, how times have changed.
Marge's laptop runs on Win8, and she has managed to get it almost to the point of being unusable. Can you say white text color on a white background?
I will eventually have to install Classic Shell to get her bailed out, but for now I'm sitting on the sidelines going, "I don't know a THING about anything past XP"!

Not entirely, but from what I understand it gives us back a legitimate START button, and easier access to the Control Panel.

I still run XP in WIN2000 look-alike mode. I had just about given up on WinDoze when, at last, I discovered the stability of 2000.
Both this laptop and the office desktop run XP, and I see no good reason to "upgrade".

I will never ever get a windows machine again, when I last time was in the states the Ipad and our Iphones was the only ones that functioned properly the windows machines crashed as soon as you conncted to Wi-Fi and opened your web browser... the apple products worked so great that I said to my self never never ever any windows stuff again...
