I wouldn't think its fuel pressure only cause it runs fine above 3200rpm and runs fine below 3000rpm its just that weird spot if it were fuel pressure I'd expect it to run weird from 3000 all the way up.
Benny - according to Mustang 309, the Edge gauge may be reporting the EBP value in different units (ie psig instead of psia) than the MAP and Baro. This is his first task - to confirm that or to disprove it. If the gauge is reporting the value as psig then it is correct for it to be 14.7 (or thereabouts) less than the other readings. Even so, it shouldn't go negative at idle. At a minimum (after confirming the actual "units" of the reading), he should pull the sensor and clean it and the tube.
).
You know he is the 2nd guy in the Last year I have run into that had what I thought to be a Bad EBP Reading
So this is 2 times I have seen the EBP sensor replaced and Did NOT Help (EDIT Looks like he hasnt got his truck running since EBP sensor swapp LOOKS LIke he is waiting for an Oil Filter maybe the New EBP Sensor helped IDK)
I do not know for shure but I am thinking Both folks I mention here used EDGE Gauges
Going to Read this thread again and try to Wrap my head around (PSIG & PSIA)
I dont understand whats Going on with the Edge and the way itss reporting EBP
So the ebp did not help... I also changed the cam sensor and crank sensor just cause they aren't to expensive. Neither helped. I took a vid of what my edge is showing it will be up soon.
K heres the video... I held the rev at different rpms to show were the trouble spot is. Monitor shows icp pressure and volts, ficm volts, injector pulse width, map, ebp and vgt demand.
edge wont get IPR% so thats really a Must to see HPO System and get a Basic Idea if that system is OK
Plus this EBP thing sounds Like Edge reports it diffrent
Just not a Big Fan of EDGE STuff
I know some folks say the ScanGaugeII is Like a 80s Pocket Calculator But at least I know what Im looking at
Do you know anyone with a SGII you could use
So the ebp did not help... I also changed the cam sensor and crank sensor just cause they aren't to expensive. Neither helped. I took a vid of what my edge is showing it will be up soon.
IMO you would be better served by following the advice already given instead of changing parts out, but to each his own.
As I did with the ebp sensor. I just figured the other two sensors were cheap money and if it fixed it great. But I can only test so much cause my edge won't show irp values so now I need to wait till I find some one whos can. I do appreciate all the in put and will take any advice that will help
odds of seeing bad ipr values is slim. ipr% is a pcm command. you would be looking at icp to really see what ipr is doing then compairing the icp# vs were you think ipr% should be
So a scan guage will only show what the demand is not the actual position? That's how my vgt is on the edge too so you never really know if its stuck because its only showing what it "wants" to be. I bought a powermax turbo lastnight that will come with a new vgt and clean vanes so that will eliminate that variable. And just incase anyone was wondering I bought the turbo not to fix an issue unless you think being power hungry is an issue... but then again I don't think ill ever be cured! So when the turbo comes out ill look at the irp and if it needs it replace it. I just hate looking at something with out a part on hand to fix with and having downtime waiting for that part. Kinda why I did the crank and cam sensors. Although I will say the new ebp sensor may have helped it run smoother the old one did have a bit of crud in the tip so maybe doing that wasn't a bad idea.
So A LOT of digging around I've found out that late 07 built fords may show some signs of odd revving I've found 2 other guys with similar problems and all built around the same time. A fellow ford tech told me there was a slight ecm tuning difference due to the epa changing the guidlines to meet efficiencies and ford over compensated. So I got a hold of power hungry performance who I've had tune me before but with no roll back and asked for both a ficm and ecm roll back... plus I needed a new tune for the powermax. So I hope that might help if anything it shouldd run a bit smoother and a little for power just from the roll backs. Does anyone know the differences in strategies the old to new tunings have?
