learned something new about tunes.....
unlimited tow, 8k tow, and a SRL - (minus) which is
a tune they have written for heavy trucks, less peak
HP and more torque on the bottom, and less heat.
if i'm gonna tow, i'll have to switch to one of the tow
tunes, but yahoo, i can run SRL, which is about double
the horsepower gain of the 8k tow tune.
i need to find or make an adapter to fit my thermocouple
hole... the banks thermocouple that was removed is a larger
hole than most thermocouples....
figures.
i'll let ya all know how it works dragging a 5 ton boat anchor around.
had a banks IQ and economind on it, but the IQ
started failing, the economind wouldn't communicate
with it, and the banks speedbrake, which was the
original reason i bought the banks unit, banks was
never able to come thru on their promise to supply
one that worked on my van, after they said it would,
and installed the IQ for me.
so the only thing on the van from banks is the sticker
on the back, until i take it off. i'm underwhelmed with
banks products at this point.
my mechanic has a large box filled with banks crap
that customers have removed and throw away.
at least i removed it before it hosed the tranny. that
seems to be a hallmark of banks tuners.

holy ****! that works well, for launching a barge!
pulling away from a corner will chirp the tires a bit,
but it has tall gears, and the weight on the rear axle
is 6,100 lbs, with an open diff....
seat of the pants is that the banks on level 6 probably
fueled the engine a bit more, but the trans shifted about
the same as stock, so thats probably not a good thing....
i'm less than thrilled with the banks, you probably guessed.
a 30-60 roll on, your tune is excellent... very little smoke, and nice
crisp shifting.... and it hauls ***..... i'll take lar's advice, and not
check the milage till i calm down after a couple tanks....
stock was getting 12.5-13 composite milage, and 19-20 at 60
on flat freeway... will see what the fuel consumption is like
after the "new fun toy" phase wears off... i suspect it's gonna
be about 6 mpg for the first tank....
another happy camper. no dtc's after upload....
thanks, both of you.
