DORMAN UP PIPES!
The Dormans are a great fit and well worth the cash spent. and, you can do it without taking the turbo off, and without removing the wheel well liner on the passenger side...just need a swivel socket and the right extentions on the ratchets!
Thanks for all the help with questions and answers...THIS SITE ROCKS to say the least!
If you are able to succeed at changing your up pipes from the bottom let us know.
When I changed my up pipes I tried to do it from the bottom first. I had all the right tools and my truck lifted to a workable height but I gave up after a few hours. I've heard it has been done but it was beyond my mechanical skills by a long shot.
Maybe if I had three long skinny arms I would have had a better chance.
Good Luck!

I tore down the top first removing everything all the way down to the turbo pedestal....as I was taking the bolts out from underneath the truck, It happened....I snapped two bolts in the baby's butt. One broke off leaving enough to grab it with a vise grip and using a little heat and rust buster, came out fairly easy....the other, not so good. It was snapped off flush with the casting. I purchased some easy outs and some really good drill bits and off I went.....drilling, heating and lubing again. DAMNIT....I snapped an easy out inside the broken bolt....even after the guy at the auto parts store said "don't break that easy out off, it'll just **** the machine shop guy off!" should have listened...but hey, I like to try things myself...

Luckily I have a couple of engineer friends who work in a place that builds machines to slice and package meat products....they had the tools to clamp the BUTT and remove the old bold with the easy out still stuck in it....even after I really clustered it buy welding a nut to it several times(wasn't very pretty)....They did a great job for FREE even!
Anywhooooo.....I got the entire project done and back together...while tightening the last bolt up from underneath, the drivers side outside bolt into the baby's butt.....the same one that had plagued me.....STRIPPED OUT....Sure I could have had it helicoiled, but I thought all those guys on FTE said......REPLACE THE UP PIPES.

So, It was back together.....I test drove it and was amazed at the power how quiet the truck was again....but if I really put my ear to it, could still hear an exhaust leak somewhere.....YUUUUUP! SOOT all over the new FELPRO gasket on drivers side uppie.

So, being the frugal guy that I am, ordered the Dorman kit. back under the truck I went, this time leaving all the parts on the top of the motor in tact, minus the fresh air intake down to where it mounts on the turbo. Took about 4 hours to install the kit. Did a majority of the work from underneath the truck. The passenger side was the toughest, but it was still all done from underneath, without removing the passenger side wheel well liner, using a 2ft & 6" extensions on a 3/8 drive with a 10mm swivel socket.
The second go round was much easier....NEW PARTS...and all of the bolts and nuts had just been replaced, therefore not frozen in place..and, the first go round only cost me about 8 bucks and whole lot of time too much..MY TRUCK IS RUNNING LIKE A TOP once again....hopefully the Dorman's hold up to the test. THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOU INPUT, past and present!
