Tomorrow or saturday i will be replacing my up pipe gaskets. Id love to do the international up pipes and never have to worry about the gaskets again but, 400 bucks is a bit much right now. I know i pull the turbo....then what? I havent been able to find a write up. Im sure someone has done it here, any how to's around? Thanks guys.
I pulled the turbo soaking everything in pb blaster first and then I took the pipes lose at the exhaust manifolds A 15mm and 10mm gear wrench made turbo removal lots easier
The gaskets are just a kinda fabric material they just slid off and I used the beans brass ones but I heard they leak I havent noticed that problem yet
I had a lot of trouble with the brass ones from Beans. I wrote him and he said to try this after he returned my money for the brass donuts.
" If you have a Car-Quest car part place close to you they sell a Chevy 350 donut gasket that works real well also. The Part# is F-17250, CarQuest is the only place I have found that sells them because they are Victor Rienz instead of Felpro's. the Felpro's are too hard and will not compress enough. If you do go this route they will fit pretty loose over the pipe, grease them up really well and tighten down the marmon clamps like crazy till it seats the gasket all the way around. I have had real good success doing those like that."
Good Luck!! I ended up buying the bellow up pipes, expensive but no leaks!!
