Extended Cab VS Crew Cab
But I've owned a 99 F150 ext. cab and then upgraded to a 2002 F250 ext. cab.
Now at this time I passed up on a 2002 Crew Cab that wouldn't have been much more!
Thought to myself would of been nice but ext. cab be fine!
Well in my job I haul lots of crap around with me and MAN I get tired of opening two doors to get crap out!
So 3 yrs ago got me a brand new Crew cab! love being able to unload the back seat with just opening one door
Plus great for trips and camping hauls 4 adults to the lake with gear and my boat
Here's a kicker, buddy at work bought new super after I got mine and asked me about ext cab or crew and I told him my reason and he said ext be fine with him! 4 months later he was moaning about opening the doors so much. LoL

i almost talked myself into a new reg cab this fall when i got the new truck bug...then thought a Ex-Cab...finally decided to wait for a Friends '11 super crew that will go off lease next year i knew i'd need the room. (and save alot of $$ over buying brand new)
thus the reason i have an excursion, the crew cab just didn't have enough room for me.
Crew cab all day, everyday. As for the box, short or long. I see the advantages of both. Personally, I have been able to get by with with the short bed. It really has been the perfect size for everything I do the truck. If I had a long box, it would be harder to get into my driveway. The CC SB is already a tight fit. The crew cab has paid for itself already this year. I love the fact I was able to fit four adults, a child and a dog in the truck in one shot. All comfortable as well.
However, I will not dislike the extended cab. I had one and it served me well. I love the fact I sold the truck to a friend of mine. They love it and it serves them well. That truck was perfect for what I asked it to do. If I didn't have the urge to upgrade this year, that 99 F150 would still be working hard for me not my friend.
My first SD was a late 99 F250 SC/SB 7.3/4x4 bought from my old boss with like 8k miles or something, for a work truck, it was fine, I liked the fact that the rear seat folded flat, could put toolbox, climbing bag in and keep it dry and safe, AND could pile up blankets and have a nice bed when hunting, I am only 5'9" 205, so I could practically stretch out at a bit of an angle. Now, with 3 chillrens, a CC is a must!
