Park brake help!
Hey all, rebuilding a 74 F100. Replaced all brakes and the Emergency brake will not ratchet ( did not ratchet before brake job either). Looks like there is a cam that engages the brake pedal but I cannot see it. I sprayed everything down with lube- no luck. All wires are free, just when you depress the pedal it does not stay down. Replace assembly or can I fix it?

FoMoCo did not offer any parts for the park brake control except the release handle and the pedal pad. If the internal coil spring or any other part broke, the entire assembly had to be replaced.
D3TZ-2780-A .. Park Brake Control Assy / Obsolete
1973/75 F100/250 2WD/4WD / 1973/75 F350's on the 140" wheelbase // 1976/79 is not the same.
NOS PARTS LTD in Waxahachie TX has TWO = 972-937-2201.
No Ford Dealer, no other obsolete parts vendor has any.

try taking the assembly out and soaking it in a pan of diesel or parts cleaner for a while. It may just be gummed up from years of spraying lube on it then dust collecting. I've fixed two just with a good cleanup.

OK I should have been a LOT clearer on what I was after. The mechanism is good. The cable from the lever under the dash to the rear cables has bee cut, so it's the main cable i am after. sorry for my giving the wrong info.
