parking brake
Also, if anyone know what I should call that part when I call the dealer, please let me know.
I have an 88 F250 4WD 381W. I just redid the rear brakes and oil seals, and I can't seem to get the parking brake to work. The thing won't spring back to the disengaged position (the light stays on and the pedal is on the floor). Also, I can't get enough tension to keep the truck from rolling in gear with the brake on.
Right now I have jury rigged an eyebolt to the 'tensioner' that used to be on the truck. But, I don't know what should cause the pedal to release (a spring?).
Thanks

If the parking brake will not catch, you'll have to replace the entire foot pedal assembly. Ford sold no internal parts for it.
Note: Ford updates part numbers. Give your dealer the references I listed above.
C8AZ-2091-A .. Adjuster nut
E0TZ-2A602-A .. Equalizer
D6TZ-2A651-A .. Equalizer Spring
E3TZ-2K389-B .. Parking Brake Adjuster
E4TZ-2760-B .. Parking Brake Foot Pedal Control Assy.
