I have finished with the flush and my "deltas" are now higher than they were before i started. They are about 30-35 with ECT at 194. I am going to replace the cooler. New question; while i have it torn down this far. Is there anything else worth changing? The truck is a 2005 model made in October 2004
you convinced me on the STC fitting, stand pipes and dummy tubes. Curious about the BDP EGR cooler. IS that brand better than the OEM? What symptoms would indicate is failing?

The BPD is quite a bit more robust than the OEM cooler. Typically when the coolant flow to the oil cooler gets restricted the EGR cooler itself gets a LOT hotter due to it's inability to be cooled and the solder joints melt internally. The cooler then starts leaking coolant into the cylinders and, depending on the severity of the leak, the engine hydro locks due to coolant in the cylinders.
The 05 and up OEM EGR coolers have a fairly high failure rate - especially after oil cooler plugging has been experienced (the coolant from the oil cooler flows into the EGR cooler, and if that flow was restricted for long, it adds stress to the EGR cooler).
I am planning on replacing the Oil cooler with an OEM one, BPD egr cooler, STC fitting, Stand pipes and dummy plugs. My question now is when i get all this apart to change the parts listed above. Are there any gaskets not included with these parts when taking something else off to gain access to, that i would need to replace as well?
As you can tell by the time frame of what is going on here i don't drive the truck much, but want to have everything ready to go when i start this.
