i have an 1982 bronco 4speed with granny gear and the 300 6 ive got a lot of clatter in the head and when the motor gets to a higher rpm it spits and sputters rebuilt the carb replaced a bend push rod still have the clattering any ideas?
Yikes, 3 of them?
The rocker studs are pressed in, so if they slide out, then, as far as I know, you need to have them pulled out, have the holes drilled and tapped, and then new screw-in studs installed.
I would almost think it would be cheaper to purchase a new head than to have that many studs fixed, unless you know a good mechanic who'll do it for cheap.
i am pulling the head tonight and putting a different head on going to make sure i check the valves in the new head to know they are not stuck really hoping no engine noise after this would really like to drive this thing lol
