I drew the codes on my '89 F150 (4x4, 4.9L, 4spd, XLT), it threw a "52". This is the power steering pressure switch circuit is open or ps switch is always open/closed.
I have been losing ps fluid but cannot find the source (hose, fitting, pump) everything is wet. Could this "open" swich be overcharging the line and causing it to leak? It isn't like the system is spurting or pouring out fluid - it actually takes weeks to lose down enough to have to add. I am lost. Currently the pump groans with even the smallest turn of the wheel - but not offensively loud???? Any help would be appreciated.
When doing the KOER test, you will see 3 CEL flashes(6 Cylinders). After that, press the brake, and turn the steering wheel left, then right. The computer expects you to do that for testing steering.
