I don't know... I rented a Sequoia on vacation a few years ago. I was very impressed. While I was looking at X's I looked at a few of them too. What kept me coming back to the X is the fact they were cheaper, larger, and had a diesel in it. The Toyota 5.7 with the current transmission is no joke, it pulls good and gets decent gas mileage. I hope it runs good for him. To each their own....
To each his own. I've had a couple of Toyotas, four Hondas, plus a Nissan and a Subaru, and they all gave me great service. I've been very disappointed with the GM products I've owned, engines and body integrity (rust) my chief complaints, then the Chrysler Corp products have varied from great to never again...
There are no perfect vehicles, and they all have their own peculiarities. If you find one which meets your wants, needs and emotional fulfillment. Then it is a good car. If not, then let the carping begin.
