When I got married my wife came with two toyotas... I haven't had even one little itch to own any toyotas since.
Pulling just the little boat in my sig the toyota 4runner sucked down more gas than I cared to know about and wasn't even able to hold speed on a flat without wind. It was gutless, it sucked gas, and was a pain to work on. Like a boat owner the happiest days were the day we got it and the day we got rid of it!
I still work on customer toyotas, every time I see one I am SOOOO glad I don't own one.
I'm proud to have turned that greenie red. Shut 'er down Stewart.
I didn't think that was possible anymore?
But for replacing an Excursion with a Toyota, I can't think of anyone more deserving of a red box. Surely the Excursion is in a better home now.
We have a guy like this on the Cruze forum right now. He owned a Cruze, but rarely posted. He recently traded it in on a Dart (which I'll admit, better than foreign crap), but he's spamming everywhere about how great his Dart is. Getting very annoying, but he hasn't really done anything to really get banned. However, the mods just warned him due to his sheer volume, so his days may be numbered. May as well shut this one down before we get flooded with Toyota postings.
Toyota, ouch... good luck with that. Sounds like there was something else going on with that V10, have never heard of that much oil usage. Good thing toyotas are usually for people who cant maintain their own vehicles...
I just rode in a Toyota this morning and thought, what a supposed reliable tin can
I was in the back and this 3 year old car rode worse and had more road noise than my Eldorado with 160k, but then again there's that maint and reliability thing.
For the record, I've been coming to the website for as long as I can remember. The advice I got was invaluable in solving some issues with my Ex. I don't know why I show as a 1st time poster.... I've posted many times, but not recently. I always appreciated the help I received from others.
I loved my Ex which is why I kept it so long. I kept it immaculate and always serviced it. But the burning oil was a thorn in my side since 2000. Never got a lick of help from Ford, just always the statement that it was within spec. Still makes me mad spending that kind of money on an engine that burns oil.
Anyway, I'd rather own a Toyota Sequoia than a gutless 5.3 Chevy Suburban. And until Ford updates the Expedition, it's not much of an option to the Sequoia.
Regarding towing, I have a major 5,500 foot summit I regularly tow 5,000 lbs over. The Ex had to take it in third gear and 50 mph was pushing it. The Toyota takes it at 65 mph in cruise with the same trailer and can accelerate to pass. It's impressive.

Number one you had to know that bashing the Ford and praising a Toyota was not going to sit well on a Ford forum.Good luck with your Toyota and I am sure they have a forum for you to express your intense love of the toyota.
Hope you read up on all of the problems the Sequoia has had over the last 2 generations before you purchased! Wait until you have corrosion problems, hatch handles breaking and electrical gremlins (misfires and ABS/TCS). Toyota isn't the same level of quality they were at one time. The water pump and timing belt repair cost will certainly make you proud to be a 5.7 owner. Oh.... and they use oil between changes as well..... so keep buying the extra oil.... and enjoy that crappy skid plate you have to remove everytime you change the oil so you can get to the oil filter.
