G'day to all of the knowledgeable and well informed FTE's out there. I'm a first time poster, comparatively long time reader.
Just seeking clarification on fitting a new starter motor onto my 351 Clevo'.
The old starter motor has three connections- two smaller 'shoes' that fit over spigots (red and green ovals) either side of the main battery connection.
What color is the wire that went to the green side? Does it happen to go to the coil + terminal? If so, that's your resistor bypass wire. I have never seen a Ford that has this type starter in the earlier years, only GM. Ford's usually have this bypass wire on the fender mounted solenoid.
