Starter Wiring
Ok well Last thing I have to do is hook up my starter to finish putting in my 460 in my truck, sounds pretty easy right? haha thats funny, nothings ever easy for me lol. So heres where Im at, I have everything hooked up and replaced my fuses. When I try to turn the motor over the starter only make a fairly loud knock(or click) and it wont crank. I have a pick of how its wired right now(plz excuse the bad picture lol) but the starter has a selinoid where a heavy duty wire hooks up to, but there are two other posts on the starter also (S and I). Well I tried everything you can think of but I cant get the right wiring to make the motor crank over. Anyone know what im doing wrong? o heres my picture I made. Thanks in advance!

ok I am making an assumption here in that your using a fender well mounted solenoid, and a late model gear reduction starter that has a solenoid on it too. If that is correct then what you do is run the starter wire from the fenderwell solenoid down to the large terminal on the starter like normal, then run a smaller jumper wire from that terminal over to the S terminal on the solenoid on the starter.

Have you got battery power going to the starter also? It looks like you are using the fender solenoid as a relay to main solenoid on starter. If so you also need to run a battery lead to the starter solenoid.
