Semi wheel - dually conversion
Yeah I am not a fan of wheel adapters, I've mentioned it a few times on here and talked about what can happen. The shipping wars show was a PERFECT example!
Which is fine if someone wants a big toy, but not when someone still wants to use the truck as a truck... like that guy did... he was lucky he did not hurt or kill someone with his mistake. I ride and shudder to think if that set of dualies would have hit a motorcyclist.

"JUST SO WE ARE CLEAR...There are no problems with the adapters on the 22.5 conversion, we have towed half a million miles with absolutely no problems! The lug nuts on the dodge were swapped at a local shop and that is what caused the studs to snap! You must use the correct lug nuts! These adapters have proven themselves up to 50k lbs!! THANKS!"
I don't know about you but I always either watch them when the torque my wheels on, or I check that they are tight when I get home.
Hopefully some state DMV/DOT will red tag his rig until he is schooled.... before someone gets hurt or killed.
Moving the tires out also increases the leverage on the wheel studs, which only increases the leverage. This further reduces the load carrying capacity of the axle as compared to stock.
Additionally, the larger rolling diameter of the tires reduces the brake effectiveness, which again, reduces the capacity to haul a load and properly stop it.
Nope, on a load carrying truck, there is absolutely no reason to compromise the trucks load capacity. Upgrades should instead do just the opposite. After all, if what you change is not at least as good as what the truck came with, is it really a upgrade or in truth a downgrade...
Funny thing is this, you don't see these types of modifications on truckers class 5-6-7-8 rigs, nope, they don't put wrong offset wheels, adapters or huge tires on there trucks, they evidently are smarter than a lot would give them credit for. Ya, you see Alcoa wheels on these, but they are proper offset without adapters.... enough said!
While it is a bummer that government has to step in to take care of peoples ignorance (or is some cases plain stupidity), I for one do appreciate my states crackdown on these pirate rigs.
Again, if used a show truck, then these types of modifications are more usable, but not for a load carrying truck.

My two cents, David
Full F-450 suspension and axels.
Fenders were custom made by a limo company in CA.
There is a hidden handle on the bottom to open the door.
Real COOL!!
