I'm putting a stock turbo off a turbo idi on my non turbo idi I was wondering the CDR valve I think that's what its called is that a very important part or will I be okay with out it. In order for the turbo to hook up I will have to delete it or relocate it.
The CDR is the diesel version of a PCV valve. It controls how crankcase gasses are sucked from the crankcase and burned. Without it, an engine with lots of blow-by, or over-filled with oil, can suck enough engine oil mist from the crankcase to have a runaway.
The turbo motors have the CDR on the drivers side valve cover.

Short answer, yes it needs relocated. You will need the intake block off plate where the CDR mounts on the NA engine, and the Valve cover off the turbo engine where the CDR gets moved to.
Uhh.. off the truck you got the turbo from would be my first thought. If you cant come up with that one, then youre pretty much SOL. Some have modified the valve cover to make it work. I guess another option would be to use the banks style relocation deal, but you still have to figure out a way to mount it to the intake pre turbo.
