My v codes came in today but have a question on shocks. Will the original shock work or will I need some that fit a f250? Mine r less than 6 months old and would hate to replace them.
When you put in the 3.5" rear blocks...what do you have to do with the rear shocks...do they need replaced to accommodate the height difference?
Nothing, no.
The OEM and Bilstein OEM replacement shocks have plenty of travel.
The fronts are serviceable too, but Bilstein recommends the F250 OEM replacement Bilstein because that one has a little more travel than the Excursion version.
When it comes time get the Bilsteins, they really are much better than stock. Have had them on my F-250 for about 6 years and on the Excursion for a year along with the modded B codes and V codes. The stock shocks will work for now.
Take the two shortest leaves from the Excursion stock spring packs and add them to the B code spring packs between the shortest leaf and the bottom overload leaf.
Here is a link to some pics when I upgraded my suspension. I take no credit for this - Cary (CT Performance) set me up with exactly what I needed.
