HEY! Watch your mouth! No sense in talking like that!!
No actually the thought is that I drive the car to work so I can work on the truck without having to keep it in running shape on a day to day basis. That and there really is no reason why I need the truck at work. I just need reliable cheap transportation and while the truck has been reliable, it isn't cheap. I guess we will see what happens. It kills me to spend money on this car when I know those dollars could go into the truck, but it's going to save me about $100 a month in fuel costs with the little that I do drive. Besides, there is no way that I can do the body and engine work that I want to do to the truck and still use it as an every day driver. Just isn't going to happen. Bought the car with a blown tranny and if all goes as planned, I should be able to get it on the road this weekend and have less than $1,000 in it.
Will do. I have the intake, I have tried several different exhaust setups including a 4" straight pipe and I can't seem to do anything to improve it past about 14. I got 16 doing 100% highway driving too at 65-70 MPH. Not sure what else it could be unless it is injectors.
Injectors are a big part of it ....as they wear they get less efficient....I am due for a set and am still deciding on single shots or split shots as I have both sets of cores along with corresponding computers....Just in the last 50k I have noticed a 1 mpg drop...I have done everything else and truck has good power....I am now 11-12 city and 14-15 Hwy....I would like to get that 1 or so mpg back....
Yeah that sounds a lot like my issue. That's about where I am at mileage wise too. It doesn't matter how I drive it either. That's just all I seem to be able to get out of it. Of course being on winter fuel right now is a contributing factor too I am sure. We shall see I guess.
Well i hope you got the camry up and running. Im still too excited about my truck running that i cant stop driving it. Im gonna change my gpr today. Maybe i will get mord mpg since i wont have to crank on it as long.

Lee, did you get your truck figured out?
Yeah i got it running on friday. I tried almost everything over the past week. decided i was gonna buy a cps from ford. Read about the auto part store ones can either be bad out of the box or just not work at all so i went and bought one from ford. and it worked.
Camry was a mixed bag of success this weekend. I ended up working (at work) for most of the day on Saturday so I got a late start. The engine and transmission are back in the car and I started it up in the shop yesterday afternoon. It's getting close. I need a few things to be able to finish it. Hopefully tonight I can take it on a road test and see if the JY transmission I put in it was a good one or not....
