hey Guys so i went on vacation for a week. had some work that needed to be done didnt have time to do it so i left it at a shop. they did my CPS camshaft position sensor which i bought from ford. and a oil change. first day driving back from vacation it was driving normal no more stalling (CPS) problem. all of a sudden stalled out looked behind me huge trail of oil. my oil pan bolt came off. i bought a new one went on good not stripped refilled with oil. Make sure your hpop is full of oil about a 1/2" from the top.. and crank it in 10 second intervals to let your starter rest in between.. And I'm sure your batteries are ok but they may drain down in the cranking process.. But from my understanding these motors will shut down due to lack of oil before any real damage can occur! Good luck!

It has taken me 30 min or so to get some start after low oil , injector change , or high pressure work . As stated let your starter cool off between attempts . I would also contact the shop that did the oil change !

I was cruising down the road and my little copper line for the oil pressure gauge broke. I pucked all my oil out and the motor quit. I got on here and ask if I ruined the motor and the answer was no, the PCM will shut the motor down before damage.

Thanks for the replies guys got the truck going again runs just fine. Thought I could trust a shop to do a oil change or me while on vacation. Guess if you want something done right you have to do it on your own. Thanks again

to clarify what you said the pcm wont shut down the engine when u run outta oil. you run outta oil to fire the injectors no fire no run thats the best thing about the heui systems no motor damage when u loose your oil unlike the 6.4 and 6.7s

I will be starting a project truck this summer it was my first truck I got a few years ago when I first got my license truck has some sentimental value to me and I just love this year truck for ford. Ill prob make a thread for it so everyone can follow and maybe give me ideas and tips. Ill be doing oil pan replacement removing the engine, body rust repair some other stuff. Great forums and hopefully people can give me tips on what to do while I have the truck apart.
