Door Courtesy Lights

How do you replace bulbs in the door courtesy lights in say a '94 F150 XLT? do you have to remove the door panel, or does the lens just come off somehow? Thanks! Rick

The lens just pops right off. It is pretty easy, except those little bulbs are hard to grab.

do you actually have a bulb or do you have a reflector with nothing behind it like me. if ou have a bulb, unhook the fuse or the battery and just use small pliers. you wont break it if careful but if it does, its small amoutn f glass, just dont have power so it doeesnt short the circuit and pop fuse. also, i dont know how far it sits but just get a picand use some tape on a pencil or something to keep from fallig down, then the same to install just push the cetner in.

also, this thread is from when i was 4, i am not 4 now. dont revive it, 2002 wasnt a good year because that means 2003 came next and prime numbers are scary

Those bulbs are small and tight, but they do just pull straight out. Be careful not to twist bc the whole harness might retract back behind the panel and you’ll have to pull the panel off to retrieve it. Made that mistake!

I have always loosened up the lower door panel enough to get hand behind it and give the wire pigtail going into light housing a twist and the entire assmbly comes right out making it easy to get at bulb.

I was always afraid of breaking the lense cover because it doesn't look like it is designed to seperate from the housing but if yours does you could always buy a pair of cushioned pliers for removing the bulb:
