Google 'DENNIS CARPENTER'... Maybe add the word 'FORD' to it. Or 'PARTS'...

I have heard that from pretty much every window kit other than Dennis Carpenter. There stuff is expensive, but OEM quality. I bought all the stuff for my 77 and everything fits like a glove and top quality. I didn't want to spend the money on my 75 project to keep cost down and was going to go with that kit from BGY, but I'm glad I haven't yet.

so the DENNIS CARPENTER weather stripping is a sure thing the doors will shut nicely without having to slam them?

Not necessarily. The new door weatherstripping essentially needs a little time to be "broke in", and it's the same with DC weatherstripping. Why this is what it is, I am really not sure. It's a common problem. However, if door stripping wasn't tight brand new and didn't need a "broke in" period, chances are the seal would be loose over a short time and would leak again. By being tight right from the start and needing that period to break in, the seal will still be a nice seal once it has it's form.

Regardless of the brand, you will most likely have to adjust the striker pins a few times over the course of about 4-6 months until they break in.

I used weatherstripping on my 72 and 74 from Precision Restoration Parts and they were both excellent quality and I couldnt have been happier. Fits great and dense rubber. Not the cheapest but competitive.
