While researchin about the ebpv tube I found some other things about just unplugging them if they go out being that they are pricey. I looked under the turbo on the turbo pedestal (where it mentioned the plug was) and was going to unplug it to see if it ran any better, would this be suggested/not suggested either way? Also I saw that there was a lot of oil/grime down there on the plug, any thoughts?

Oil and grime can and/or will cause issues. Cleaning wont hurt.
Not sure about just disonnecting the sensor.
