I just got my manual 66 f100 352 4x4 put back together drove it out of the shop into the snow, had to shift into 4wd and reverse, now the thing wont go forward or backwards. I think the transfer case may be stuck in neutral but I don't know it well enough to know for sure. If i try goin forward or backward it will rock a little, but the wheels wont make more than a budge. tried rocking and pulling transfer case back to get it into 2wd but nothing changes.
Alright, well I was able to get it back in 2wd and with some coaxing get her out of the snow, but the transfer case still won't grab 4wd... Suggestions?
My 64 f100 had neutral it was a Dana 24 t case heres the shift pattern of it. have you looked over the linkage at all? Might have something binding or could be stuck. after my truck sat awhile and trying to put it in 4wd needed Alittle help guess from the rust and not being moved in awhile.
I had the same issue with shifting to and from 4X4. What I have found out is that rods that stick out of the transfercase get rusty and covered in crap from use and age. To make shifting less of a pain is to clean the rods with a wire brush and paint them to keep them from rusting again. I would post a pic of what I mean but I don't have the know how to do that yet.

I like to coat the rods and linkage hinge points with anti-sieze.
