Sounds good to me... Looks kinda cool when the vapor comes out the side when it's cold and it looks like the truck is a bull snarling

Ive decided to go with the Polypropylene canister for mine. For those of you who mounted it to the frame using a strap were you able to use self tappers to screw the strap to the frame?

That frame is thick and hard, the self-tapping screw tip will dull long before it makes a crater... let alone a hole.

I used zip ties and what ever holes that are already drilled in the frame.

Here is mine, under the driver's side, using existing holes. The tie wrap keeps a little tension on it so it doesn't vibrate too bad.

I did it last yr and it works great. I did notice that when I switched to synthetic oil that I have to drain it more often. My last drain was about 2oz.

It was 7000 miles. I empty it every oil change and now I got my second oil report back saying I could go to 10,000 miles I might have to check it sooner then that.

What I mean by baffle is alot of the fancy store bought ones use baffles (plates with holes or fine mesh screen) instead of scrub pads. But I would use both.

Also I don't know if you can tell from the photo the inlet from the doghouse is lower than the output to the intake. You want to make sure your outlet is higher. And I also wanted the inlet from the doghouse to be alittle higher than the doghouse incase the catch can ever got to the point it had oil up to the inlet then when the truck was off it would run back into the valve cover. Now for me to be able to place the output higher than the input I had to cut about 1/2" off the top cap before putting it together. The higher you can get the output the better. I'll post how long it is tomorrow.
Got it done, Ed. Thanks for in depth info and advise.

Hey Tom, I went with your clear braided idea on the return line. Hose good for 175* and 250 psi. Thanks

Nice job Rich !! I like how you did the drain tube too. You also got it mounted so the lower tube is a little higher than the dog house.

Not to hijack but i was actually thinking about this the other day. I did the ccv mod years back, even built the catch can. I never installed it after building it.

Now i am interested in ditching the can all together and routing it into the exhaust. Has anyone done this ?

Im curious as to the effect of the exhaust flow what it might have on venting the cc properly.

a. could it creat a suction if tapped in at a 45* angle causing it to suck more than just cc gas out
b. could it potently push exhaust gas back up into the cc

Just quick little thoughts. Im really interested in doing this but would need suggestions on materials to use and where about in the exhaust i should put the fitting. Also what type of hose should i use. I would be afraid of it melting.

Any ideas or suggestions I'm open for. If we need so start a new thread on doing this let me know
