Idle Speed

Does anyone see, or forsee a problem if i have my truck set to idle in the 900's range?

As far as I know unless your a programmer and reprogram the PCM ain't gonna happen not pemenantly anyways. Cruise control can be used to boost it up a little. but once ya touch the throttle or braes it will kick out and pcm takes back over.

WE had a few trucks with PTO driven hydraulic pumps, needed 1100 rpm to work, used the cruise to do it.

Do you mean a high idle switch, we do it all the time. As for a regular idle why?

High idle mod equals 1200 rpm in neutral. Standard idle is app. 650 in gear or neutral.
